Areas of Interest
  • Community health: community health work to address health disparities, community health initiatives with partners in San Francisco ranging from training peer health educators to expanding job training opportunities, community needs assessment survey in Bayview Hunters Point, clinical practice in one of the San Francisco Department of Public Health clinics.
  • Civic engagement and community partnerships:efforts to improve the institutional infrastructure at UCSF to support more civic engagement activities, co-founded and direct UCSF’s Community Partnership Resource Center (CPRC) focusing on improving well-being and reducing health disparities in the southeast sector of San Francisco.
  • Service-learning: service-learning as a modality for introducing trainees to the role health professionals can have engaging with communities to improve health at a community-wide level. She is involved in numerous service-learning curricula.
