Elective Clerkships The Department of Family and Community Medicine offers a number of electives for visiting students. Below is a brief description of the elective available through UCSF in the Bay Area, as well as a link to additional UCSF electives at UCSF Fresno Center – Fresno. In addition, our affiliated sites in Salinas and Santa Rosa also offer electives for visiting students.
San Francisco/Bay Area Electives FCM 140.40: Family Practice Advanced Inpatient Clerkship The Family Practice Inpatient Service at San Francisco General Hospital employs the family practice approach to hospitalized adult patients with diverse medical problems. Students function as members of the multidisciplinary inpatient team at a junior intern level. Attending rounds are held daily. For UCSF students, who have first preference, this elective meets graduation requirements for Medicine Sub-I.
